Bikes, mobiles seized, 4 arrested

The Division B police have arrested two thieves, identified as Mandeep Singh, alias Mannu, of New Kapoor Nagar and Suraj Singh, alias Baba, of Gurnam Singh Nagar.

In a press release issued here today, the police stated that the two were nabbed from the pataka (firecracker) market in Jahajgarh when they were waiting for some clients to sell the stolen material. During preliminary probe, the police recovered five mobile phones and a stolen bike from their possession. Later, seven more mobile phones and another stolen bike was confiscated.

The police have registered a case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC against them.

In another incident, the Verka police arrested Resham Singh, alias Resham, of Patti Hardass Di and Deepak Kumar, alias Deepu, of Indira Colony in Verka for allegedly possessing a stolen bike. The police authorities said that the accused were involved in the stealing motorcycles. A case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC was registered against them at the Rambagh police station.

Meanwhile, an unknown motorcycle thief took away a motorcycle from outside Madaan Hospital on Majitha road here recently. The incident was captured in a CCTV camera. The police are trying to identify the suspect.
