BJP for propagation of Central schemes

Tribune News Service

Amritsar, February 12

Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) local unit today discussed the strategy to take the “people-friendly” policies of the Central Government to the masses. They blamed the Congress, particularly Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, for “failing to fulfill the poll promises”.

The leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Shwait Malik, BJP national general secretary Tarun Chug and former minister Anil Joshi today met at the residence of state executive member Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina under the headship of district chief Rajesh Honey.

They said several schemes, such as Jan Dhan Yojna, Swachh Bharat, universal insurance cover ‘Modicare’, housing facilities for the poor and education for the girl child, etc, had been initiated by Narendra Modi-led Central Government.

Chhina, meanwhile, accused the Congress-led state government of not making the best use of the funds being released by the Modi government.

Honey demanded the arrest of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler for his “role” in the 1984 riots.
