Encroachments removed

Tribune News Service

Amritsar May 16

The estate wing of the Municipal Corporation (MC), led by Inspector Kewal Sajjan Singh, removed encroachments from Mall Road, bus stand, Gate Hakima and Bhagtanwala main road on Wednesday. A day before, the MC had removed encroachers from Chowk Bijli, Kairon Market, Chowk Farid, Ram Talai Road, Golden Avenue main road and old city areas. More than 200 vends have been seized.

MC Estate Officer Sushant Bhatia said,“ We will not tolerate encroachments on footpaths and roadsides. Vendors and shoppers should not hinder the traffic."

The MC has intensified its anti-encroachment drive in the past few days.
