Three held with heroin

Tarn Taran: The police arrested three persons and seized 374 gm of heroin from them. The Chohla Sahib police recovered 270 gm of heroin from Amarjit Singh of Chohla Sahib village while the Patti City police caught Satnam Singh of Patti with 100-gm heroin. In another case, four gm of heroin was seized from Major Singh of Cheema Khurd village. The police have registered the cases under Sections 21, 61 and 85 under the NDPS Act against the accused, the police said. OC

Haryana man’s car stolen

The car of a devotee, who had come from Haryana to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Beer Baba Budha Sahib, Thatha 16 km from here, was stolen on Wednesday. The car was parked outside the gurdwara. The Chabal police have registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC. The police said Mandeep Singh along with his family members had come to the gurdwara. He parked his Indica Vista car (HR-2BC-0590) outside the gurdwara and found it missing after he returned from the shrine. OC

Child killed in mishap

An eight-year-old boy, Shubham, was killed in a road accident on Tarn Taran-Khadur Sahib road Wednesday evening. A resident of Muradpur, the kid stood beside his mother Manju when a car, moving at a high speed, hit the boy. He was taken to the Civil Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The postmortem was conducted here on Thursday. The car driver is yet to be identified who fled the spot after the mishap. The police have registered a case under Sections 304-A and 279 of the IPC against the driver of an unidentified car. OC
