Shubhdeep Aulakh, son on Wing Commander (retd) Lakhvinder Singh Aulakh, has brought laurels to the district by securing all-India rank 35 in the National Defence Academy entrance examination 2017.

Shubhhdeep joined Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI, Mohali, run by the Punjab Government in 2016 and secured the topmost rank of Battalion Cadet Captain.

Shubhdeep said he worked hard to fulfil his dream of becoming a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force like his father.

His father, Lakhvinder Singh Aulakh, studied at the government school of Jassi Pau Wali village and joined IAF in 1987 to become a fighter pilot.

He retired as Wing Commander in 2017 after putting in 30 years of service.

His family members, including Shubhdeep’s mother, sister, uncle and grandfather, congratulated Shubhdeep on his success and wished him luck for serving the nation. — TNS
