Cross FIRs filed as two groups clash

Bathinda, May 15

The police have registered cross FIRs in a case of clash between two groups over a water channel dispute in their fields that took place at Jandiala village.

In a complaint lodged by Gurtej Singh, a resident of Jandiala village, it has been stated that accused Jaswinder Singh, Pala Singh, Mani Singh, Balraj Singh and Ramesh Singh, residents of Jandiala, attacked and beaten them up.

A case under Sections 307, 341, 323, 148 and 149 of the IPC has been registered against the accused at the Nehiawala police station.

Another complaint was also lodged with the police by Pala Singh in which he stated that accused Mander Singh, Angrej Singh and Gurtej Singh of the same village attacked them.

A case under Sections 341, 323 and 34, IPC, has been registered against the accused at the Nehiawala police station.

Investigating officer SI Gurbir Singh said they had registered cross FIRs on the complaints of both parties.

He said a clash took place over a water channel dispute in their fields. However, no arrest has been made so far, he added. — TNS
