Earrings snatched, woman injured

Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched earrings from a woman at Bucho Mandi on Tuesday. As per information, 53-year-old Krishna Devi, a resident of ward number 2 at Bhucho, was sitting outside her house around 11 am when two persons came on a motorcycle and fled after snatching her earrings. Her ears got injured in the act.

Family members informed the Bhucho police post about the incident. Police post in charge ASI Jaspal Singh has registered a case against unidentified persons. The police are trying to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage.

It is pertinent to mention that snatching incidents are on the rise in the district. On April 28, two incidents of snatching and one theft incident were also reported in the district.

Two motorcycle-borne unidentified youths snatched purse from a woman teacher near telephone exchange in Bharat Nagar on April 19, as she was returning home after school duty. Passersby attempted to chase the accused, but both managed to escape.

Ravinder Kaur, a resident of Guru Teg Bahadar Nagar, Bathinda, in her complaint to the police said as she alighted from the bus, two unidentified youths made away with her purse containing cash, mobile phone and some documents.
