On the last day of the district-level U-14 games, Deputy Commissioner Praneet on Wednesday gave away medals to the winners at the multipurpose sports stadium here.

Addressing the players, DC Praneet said good players made for good society because players followed rules and regulations. They even did not break rules in society as well. He motivated players to work hard and stay away from drugs.

In the 400 m race (boys), Akashdeep of Talwandi Sabo won the first, Gurbhej Singh of Bhairupa second and Lakhwinder Singh of Balluana won the third position. In the 400 m race (girls), Sarandeep Kaur of Jogewala won the first, Manpreet Kaur of Bhairupa second and Gurpreet Kaur of Singo won the third position.

In basketball (boys), Khalsa School, Bathinda, won the first position by defeating Khalsa Club, Bathinda, 42-32. Guru Nanak School, Bathinda, won the third positon. In basketball (girls), Sports Ghudda won the first position by defeating Khalsa Club 25-15 and Mehma Sarja won the third position.

In football (boys), Bathinda won the first position by defeating Phul 1-0 and Nathana defeated Bhagta Bhaika 2-0 to win the third position. In handball (boys), DAV School, Rama, defeated Senior Secondary School, Ramsara, 10-7 and won the first position, while Jhumba won the third position by defeating Youth Welfare Club, Ramsara, 7-5.

In handball (girls), Senior Secondary School won the first position by defeating Secondary School, Behman Diwana, 8-5 and DAV School defeated Jhumba 8-7 to win the third position.

In wrestling (boys) 35 kg category, Khushkaran Singh of Bangi Raghu won the first, Jagmeen Singh of Gurthari second and Mandhir Singh of Ghudda won the third position.

In the 38 kg category, Balwinder Singh of Bangi Raghu won the first, Armanjot Singh of Gurthari second and Ashok Kumar of Ghudda won the third position. In 44 kg, Arshdeep Singh of Bangi Kalan won the first, Sardul Singh of Bangi Raghu second, Pushpinder Singh of Nandgarh and Jaspreet Singh of Ghudda won the third position.

In 62 kg, Eknoor Singh of Ghudda won the first, Harman Singh of Chak Heera Singh Wala second and Lovepreet Singh of Ghudda got the third position.

In wrestling (girls) 33 kg category, Sukhpreet Kaur of Ghudda won the first, Khushpreet Kaur of Gurthari second and Ritu Kaur of Pakka Kalan won the third position. In 42 kg, Shina of Ghudda won the first, Jashanpreet Kaur of Nathana second and Rajveer Kaur of Pakka Kalan won the third position. In 50 kg, Akashdeep Kaur of Ghudda won the first and Hardeep Kaur of Nathana won the second position.
