Man arrested with heroin

BATHINDA: Acting on a tip-off, the Kotwali police arrested a person with 7 gm of heroin from Hajirattan Chowk here on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Rajwinder Singh, a resident of Narr Singh Colony. A case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused. TNS

Two held with intoxicant syrup

Bathinda: The Maur police arrested two persons with 93 bottles of intoxicant syrup and 1,920 banned pills. The accused have been identified Ramandeep Singh and Manpreet Singh, residents of Kotli village. A case under Sections 22, 61 and 85 of the NDPS has been registered against the accused at the Maur police station. TNS

Quack arrested

Bathinda: A resident of Rama village was arrested for allegedly practising as a doctor despite being unqualified. The police raided the clinic of Darshan Singh, a resident of Rama, and recovered 300 tablets of pink colour. He was duping residents by claiming himself as a well-qualified doctor. A case has been registered against the accused at the Rama police station. TNS
