Nursing council employee caught taking bribe by VB

Vigilance Bureau (VB) sleuths on Wednesday arrested nursing council senior assistant Darshi Devi on the charge of taking bribe.

As per information, the management of Saraswati Institute of Nursing, Maur Mandi, had lodged a complaint against the accused over demanding bribe.

A trap was laid by the Vigilance Bureau and the accused was arrested red-handed taking bribe.

Sources in bureau claimed that more arrests could be made. A team of the Vigilance Bureau also raided the house of the accused and interrogating the latter.

Saraswati Institute of Nursing chairman Swaran Parkash Singh said every year, the council team comes to the college for inspection, after which an affiliation certificate is issued.

He said the inspection of his institute had taken place in September last year, but despite this affiliation certificate was not issued, due to which the future of students was at risk.

The accused was demanding Rs 20,000 in bribe from them for issuing the certificate, but he lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Bureau.
