A delegation of Talwandi Sabo residents on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner. In the memorandum, they said illicit liquor and drugs were being sold unabated in Talwandi Sabo town in connivance with police officials.

They said Talwandi Sabo was a scared and historic place and the sale of liquor was totally banned.

Yadwinder Singh, Avtar Singh, Gaganpreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Tarsem Kumar alleged that many times, they have informed police officials about it, but to no avail.

The delegation members said a few days ago, residents had got an illegal liquor vend removed from Khanda Chowk at Talwandi Sabo. Now, it had been reinstalled, they alleged.

They also demanded an inquiry into it and strict action against the erring officials.
