BSNL offers unlimited voice calls, 90 GB data at Rs 429

BSNL has introduced voice and data centric plan 429 for unlimited voice calls and 1 GB data per day for 90 days under pre-paid mobile services. Under the plan, unlimited voice calls (local/STD) can be made on any network and 90 GB data (@ 1 GB per day) for 90 days is available on PAN-India basis (except Kerala Circle).

Chitkara celebrates fresher’s party to welcome new students

Subway India introduces two new subwraps

Subway India has introduced two new subwraps - chicken seekh and veg shammi, to its menu. The new products are available across all restaurants. The products are prepared using multigrain tortilla wraps from a healthy mix of whole wheat, soybean, ragi, oats, maize, barley and black gram.

TCY facilitating higher education learning sitting at home

Ludhiana-based TCY is facilitating higher education sitting at home. Along with its 525+ centres, TCY offers services in more than 190 examination categories to students across the country. In the past one year alone, 55,000 students have availed the services of TCY. TCY's methodology makes the student work on his strong and weak areas. 

NHPC organises workshop on Hindi at Salal Power Station

A Hindi workshop was organized for employees of Salal Power Station for effective implementation of Rajbhasha in day-today office routine works on September 8. The workshop was inaugurated by Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station. As many as 29 employees participated in the workshop.

Blue Whale challenge: Fortis launches 24x7 helpline 

The Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare, Amritsar, has launched a 24X7 helpline in view of the recent suicides by teenagers who participated in the Blue Whale challenge. This helpline is available for anyone who is directly undergoing undue mental stress and anxiety as a participant in the challenge. The counselling offered via the Fortis Helpline (8376804102) is directed at both crisis intervention and psycho-education, imparting skills to young people to be able to deal with the situation effectively.

Union Bank of India wins Best Emerging Bank Award 

Union Bank of India has won Best Emerging Bank Award for the Year 2016-17. Bank's Executive Director Raj Kamal Verma and GM-DIT R Kandasamy received the award from S Ganesh Kumar and Sudarshan Sen, Executive Directors, Reserve Bank of India, at a function held recently in Hyderabad.

LIC launches new product ‘Jeevan Utkarsh’

LIC Chairman VK Sharma has launched a new plan, 'LIC's Jeevan Utkarsh. It offers a combination of protection and savings wherein the risk cover is 10 times of tabular single premium from the date of commencement of risk. The proposer will have an option to choose the basic sum assured. The single premium payable shall depend on the chosen basic sum assured and age at entry of the life assured.

GNA University celebrates National Nutrition Week 2017

The faculty of hospitality, GNA University, celebrated National Nutrition Week 2017 on September 1. Students of B.Sc (Hotel Management) were taken to Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar, where Dr Vaishali, Chief Dietician, PIMS, demonstrated live examples and made students aware of good nutritional practices. Dr Harvinder Singh, Head, ENT, educated students on the adverse effects of mobile phone use on health. On September 5, nutritional food menu competition and poster making competition was also held.

Oriental Bank reduces MCLR rates by up to 5 basis points

Oriental Bank of Commerce has reduced its Marginal Cost of Fund based Lending rate (MCLR) by 5 bps in six months and one year tenor with effect from September 11.
