Gold bonds subscription to open on April 24

New Delhi, April 20

The government, in consultation with Reserve Bank of India, has decided to issue the first tranche of sovereign gold bonds for 2017-18.

The issue price of the gold bonds will be Rs 50 per gram less than the nominal value. Applications for the bond will be accepted from April 24 to April 28. The bonds will be issued on May 12.

The investors will be compensated at a fixed rate of 2.50% per annum payable semi-annually on the nominal value.
