Chandigarh, July 11

Almost four days after three persons allegedly kidnapped two men from Khuda Lahora and thrashed them before abandoning them, one of the victims succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

Vijay, a resident of Janata Colony, Nayagaon, Mohali, along with his friend Rishu, was going on a scooter towards Nayagaon when a car had intercepted them and forced them to stop.

Three persons, Khan, Anna and Pritam, who were in the car, thrashed and bundled them into the car.

The accused took the victims to a house in Nayagaon, where they were thrashed by the trio. After a few hours, the accused abandoned the victims in a forest area at Khuda Lahora.

The police said Rishu, a resident of Nayagaon, who was admitted to the PGI, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday. His autopsy was conducted and the body handed over to the family. A police official said the case of attempt to murder, registered at the Sarangpur police station, had been converted into a murder case.
