Office-bearers elected

Chandigarh: Inderjit Kaur of office of Dean of University Instruction (DUI) has been chosen as chairman of the Panjab University Stenographers' Association unanimously for 2018. Jasmer Singh, working in General Branch is chosen as vice-chairman, Shalini Batra of AC Joshi Library as secretary, Alka of University School of Open Learning as joint secretary and Rishi Sablok of office of Director Public Relations (DPR) as treasurer. Along with these office-bearers, Usha of University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Meera of reevaluation branch, Bhupinder Singh of office of Dean Students Welfare and Rajni Bala of Research Journal branch are chosen as executive members unanimously. Ropar to rope in faculty from US

Ropar: A delegation of IIT Ropar led by director SK Das will visit the US in order to woo foreign scholars to join the premier engineering institute as faculty. The delegation, including Dean of Faculty Affairs, Dean of Industrial Consultancy, Sponsored Research, Industry Interaction and Public Relations and Associate Dean of International Affairs, intends to foster academic and research linkages with world's leading universities in the US also. Prof Das said they would visit NC State University and have a follow up meetings with the last year collaborators JWAFS (Jameel World Water and Food Security) Centre at MIT and would be a part of a unique initiative - "Young Investigator Meeting (YIM) Boston" - with the underlying aim to engage in intriguing discussions with young scientists from different backgrounds and to catalyse a radical movement of brain drain to brain gain for India.
