Farmers and residents of the area got a major relief from blistering heat wave after rain and hail brought the temperature down on Wednesday.

Raspulpur, Bangalipur, Kaler, Kallha and some other villages received the hailstorm this afternoon.

Tejinderpal Singh of Raspulpur village said a five-minute hailstorm covered the village with a white blanket. He said the farmers did not suffere any losses to their crops.

Chief Agriculture Officer Harinderjit Singh said there was no loss to farmers as fields were empty and the paddy planting season started on Wednesday.
