SUV rams tree, catches fire

An SUV of the local Sri Darbar Sahib caught fire after hitting a roadside tree near Noordi village, 8 km from here, on Saturday. The vehicle (PB46M3767) was being driven to Gurdwara Beer Baba Budha Sahib Thatha. The vehicle occupants had to jump out of the vehicle to save themselves.

Balwinder Singh Uboke, manager of the Darbar Sahib, said the vehicle was being driven by Jagtar Singh. Others in the vehicle were vice-manager Nirmal Singh, inspector Baldev Singh and storekeeper Paramjit Singh. They were going to bring wheat from nearby Gurdwara Beer Baba Budha Sahib when the incident took place. According to information, the driver lost control over the SUV, hitting a roadside tree.
