Bathinda, June 11

A 25-year-old girl, resident of the city, is missing under mysterious circumstances since May 30. The girl had left her home for an IELTS coaching centre but did not return.

At first, family members searched for the girl but they have now raised suspicion that some unidentified person might have kidnapped her.

The Canal colony police station have registered a case against unidentified persons on the complaint of the father of the girl and started looking for her.

In a complaint lodged with the police, retired Army official Roop Singh, a resident of Partap Nagar, stated that his daughter had done computer engineering diploma and BCA. She wanted to do IELTS and on May 30, she had gone to a coaching centre to enquire about the classes and the course but did not return.

Further, he stated that at first they searched for her at her friends’ and relatives’ places, but were unable to trace her. They suspected that someone had kidnapped her and kept her captive.

Investigation officer ASI Iqbal Singh said “We are trying to trace her mobile number”. He assured that they would find the girl soon and hand her over to the family.
