The Kotwali police on Tuesday registered a case against Congress leader Anil Bhola on the complaint of BJP leaders. The latter alleged that Bhola kept three BJP workers hostages at his house and also misbehaved with them. Bhola has been booked under Sections 342 and 506 of the IPC.

BJP-SAD workers had staged a protest in front of the Kotwali police station on Monday in this regard.

Three BJP women workers had recorded statements at the Kotwali police station that they were doing door-to-door campaigning in Afeem Wali Gali with regard to the bypoll in ward number 30 around 9.00 am on Monday. A man held them hostage in his house, who they later came to know was Congress leader Anil Bhola. The complainants said the accused locked his house and tried to slap them. When they tried to contact their party leaders, Bhola took their mobile phones away and misbehaved with them, they added.
