GKU holds seminar on defence studies

Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, organised a seminar on the topic ‘Need for Defence Studies’.

Narinder Singh, director, Finance; Gurjant Singh Sidhu, registrar; GS Brar, dean, Academics; and Amit Tuteja, deputy registrar, along with respective deans of various department, attended the seminar.

Brigadier Vijay Sagar said defence studies were very important for students. The syllabus of a defence course should be designed according to the needs of military and police forces. Any graduate should be able to take admission in such courses and after completing this programme, students would get better employment opportunities.

Dr JS Dhillon, Vice Chancellor of the university, said a defence department would be set up at the university soon. Horse riding, swimming, shooting range and gym facilities would also be provided to the students. The University would prepare students according to the needs of forces so that they are selected easily during recruitment.
