Bouncer sent to police custody for assaulting 3 men on Airport Road

The police arrested a bouncer identified as Tarun Chopra, who assaulted three men on Airport Road last month, and produced him in a local court, which sent him to two-day police remand.

The bouncer was nabbed by the police yesterday. The Station House Officer, Balongi police station, Sub-Inspector Yogesh Kumar, said, “Raids are being conducted to nab the other accused in the road rage case.”

The three victims – Akshay Sharma, Shivjot and Sunny – were beaten up by Tarun along with 11 other unidentified persons in a horrendous daylight attack on Airport Road, near Ballomajra, on May 11. All the victims work for a security company. The car in which the victims were travelling was also vandalised by the suspects.

A video of the incident had also gone viral. Faces of all the suspects were clearly captured in the video that was filmed on the a mobile phone. The suspect had also pointed a pistol at one of the victims, but it was not visible in the video.

A case was registered against the suspect and 11 other unidentified persons under Sections 307, 325, 148 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code and under sections of the Arms Act at the Balongi police station.
