The Centre for Development Economics and Innovation Studies (CDEIS) and the Department of Economics at Punjabi University, in collaboration with the Association of Asia Scholars (AAS), are organising a two-day international conference on ‘Asia’s Development Experience in 21st Century’.

Professors associated with the conference said Asia had emerged the most dynamic region of the global economy in the recent years and had undergone a substantial and multidimensional transformation in the past 50 years.

“This transformation has not only generated opportunities, but has also created new challenges that need to be tackled to maintain its advantage in the global economy. The conference will begin on June 11. Public policy issues faced by various Asian countries will be discussed during the conference,” said Lakhwinder, Head of the Department of Economics.

Lakhwinder said experts from various Asian countries, including Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, would also participate in the conference.
