New pharmacy college in Dera Bassi

Dera Bassi, June 12

The Sukhmani Group of Institutions has started a new college —Sri Sukhmani Institute of Pharmacy — in Dera Bassi.

The institute has been approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education, Pharmacy Council of India, IKGPTU, Jalandhar, and Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Mohali. Sources said the new college will have two courses — diploma in pharmacy and undergraduate programme — with an approved intake of 60 students each. Prof Avtar Singh, Chairman, SSGI, said: “The profession of pharmacy is undergoing a rapid change. With the opening of large pharmaceutical companies, the future in the field is bright. Numerous jobs are available for pharmacists in government and private organisations.” — OC
