One arrested with intoxicant tablets, injections

The police arrested a person and seized 825 intoxicant tablets, 20 injections and 20 empty bottles from his possession at a naka near Lelhi on Sunday. The suspect has been identified as Bhagat Singh, a resident of Nawanshahr.

The police said acting on a tip-off a naka was laid near the Lelhi ITI intersection on Sunday. A Haryana Roadways bus, which was coming from the Ambala side, was signalled to stop for checking. The suspect, Bhagat Singh, fearing action, immediately de-boarded the bus and tried to flee, but was apprehended by the police. During checking, the police recovered intoxicant tablets, injections and empty bottles from his possession.

A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act was registered against the suspect at the Lalru police station. Further probe was on the police said.
