The cyber cell of the Haryana police has been searching for some miscreants who duped more than 15 persons on pretext of charging courier payments through their credit/debit cards.

According to the police, while charging courier money, the miscreants, who posed themselves as courier company employees, got all details of the victims’ debit/credit cards by swiping those in their POS machines and later withdrew hefty amounts by using those.

The police said that more than 15 complaints in this regard had been received so far.

Under the modus operandi, the miscreants first approached their prey at their house on pretext of delivering them some gift pack.

They then demanded nominal charges that they asked the person to pay through debit/credit cards only.

Most of the victims have lost the amount ranging between Rs 50,000 and Rs 90,000.

“Investigations are on in the case. The miscreants will soon be behind bars,” the police added.
