Shemrock School, Mohali

A summer camp concluded at Shemrock School, Sector 69, Mohali. On the last day of the camp, a finale was organised for parents. A special exhibition was also organised and the creative items made by students were put on display. Kids presented western dance, Bhangra, music, dramatics and yoga. The kids began the show with a prayer. They also presented a play on ‘healthy diet’.

Shishu Niketan, Chandigarh

A seminar was held at Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector 43, on corporal punishment, its effects and alternative strategies. The school counsellor discussed the issue through a presentation, followed by a group activity for educators. A short film, ‘The Rose’, was also shown, which highlighted the repercussions of corporal punishment. The speaker laid emphasis on positive reinforcement, motivation and integrated teaching as effective alternatives for corporal punishment. Social and emotional issues associated with the punishment were also discussed.

Mind Tree, Kharar

Mind Tree School organised a week-long summer camp on their school campus. The camp offered a plethora of activities such as fusion dance, painting, skating, art and craft to keep the children occupied. The week-long fun and frolic came to an end with a grand finale. Parents were enthralled by dances and fierce skating performances. Apart from these activities, the school also organised an art exhibition. The finale came to an end with a special thanks by Sanjay Kumar, Director, Mind Tree School.

AKSIPS-41, Chandigarh

The Yuvsatta organised a book donation drive named ‘Kitaba da langar’. AKSIPS 41 Smart School donated 200 books in the donation drive. The Yuvsatta awarded the school for this noble act.

Solitaire International, Panchkula

A summer camp, ‘Beat the Heat’ – Part II, is being conducted at Solitaire International School, Sector 20, Panchkula. Besides regular activities such as dance, music, calligraphy, basketball, art and craft, skating, yoga and gymnastics, students are being engaged in a new activity every day. Music remained activity of the day. Students of different age groups learnt instrumental music and tried their hands on key board to strike different musical notes.

The Knowledge Bus, Kharar

The Knowledge Bus Global School students visited an old-age home, Akal Bridh Ashram, Mullanpur. It was an opportunity for them to share their love, warmth and feelings with the elderly. Students developed with the inmates a bond that they would cherish for years. tns
