Summer school begins tomorrow

The National Academy of Sciences Summer School will be organised at the PU from June 12 to June 15.

Prof KN Pathak, senior scientist from the National Academy of Sciences, India, (NASI) will be coordinating the workshop. Aditi Singhal, who has three records in Limca Book for memory and fastest calculation, will be interacting with the participants on June 15.

Inaugural function of the summer school will be held on June 12 at Prof BM Anand Auditorium, Department of Physics, PU. Prof Raj Kumar, PU Vice-Chancellor, will be the chief guest and Prof IBS Passi, president, Chandigarh Chapter, NASI, will be the guest of honour.

The NASI is one of the oldest science academy of our country and a premier scientific organisation which is financially supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and is involved in science communication for the cultivation of scientific temperament among students, teachers and masses at large.

All academic programmes will be held at the Department of Physics. Experts from various fields, including physics, chemistry, geology, zoology, botany, mathematics, and anthropology will be interacting with the students.
