Three-day migratory pulse polio round to begin tomorrow

Tribune News Service
Patiala, June 14

In order to create awareness among residents ahead of the three-day migratory pulse polio round, Civil Surgeon Dr Harish Malhotra today flagged off a rickshaw from his office.

Dr Malhotra said the rickshaws equipped with speakers would be sent to slum areas as there was higher concentration of migratory population. He said they want to ensure that kids up to five years of age get vaccinated.

He said migratory pulse polio round would be held from June 16-18. He said during the three-day drive, 184 health and 12 mobile teams from the Health Department would go door-to-door, especially in slum areas, at brick-kilns, construction sites and other high-risk areas to ensure maximum coverage of polio vaccine. He said they would vaccinate around 25,388 kids  during the drive.
