New Delhi, April 14

Delhi unit of the Communist Party of India (CPI) today held two dharnas on the occassion of the 127th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar demanding immediate stop of repressions on Dalits and to save the Constitution.

In the morning, a dharna was held at J block of Mangolpuri and another was held at Subzi Mandi Ghanta Ghar. While addressing the participants, speakers condemned attacks on Dalits and minorities. Dalits and minorities are attacked and false cases are registered against them. Manuvadi politics of RSS is being encouraged. Dalits economy is derailed deliberately. Their social and cultural identity is denied to the extent that this government was not able to stop dilution of SC/ST Act.

The speakers insisted that the secular and democratic values of the Constitution are in danger. All secular-democratic forces have to unite for the defence of the Constitution.
