Former VC lauds Manmohan’s 1991 fiscal policy

New Delhi, November 17

Former Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dinesh Singh lauded India 1991-New Economic Policy saying it was a stand-out in the annals of modern India which opened up jobs opportunities and gave momentum to education and need for vocational skills among youth of hitherto marginalised sections of the society.

“The policy for which credit goes to the then PM Narasimha Rao and Finance Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, was a major and progressive milestone in the annals of Modern India,” said Singh, who is currently Chancellor of KR Manglam University, at a panel discussion following release of a book by former Rajya Sabha MP and veteran journalist HK Dua Saturday evening. — TNS
