75 cops challaned for violating traffic rules

Rohtak, April 21

The district police have launched a special drive to ensure that all residents, including the police personnel, follow the traffic rules. As part of the campaign, the traffic police personnel checked the vehicles at all police stations/posts and police lines here on Friday.

A police spokesperson informed that as many as 75 police officials/officers were challaned for not following the traffic rules during today’s campaign.

The district police authorities have also launched a scheme, under which any person who clicks pictures/videos of violation of traffic rules by police personnel or other residents and sends these on PCR WhatsApp No. 9996464100 will get a cash reward of Rs 1,000.

Rohtak SP Pankaj Nain maintained that the names of the informers would be kept secret. He also appealed to the newsmen to click pictures of law-violators and send these to the police through WhatsApp.

The SP informed that more than 200 persons had been arrested and a substantial quantity of drugs, etc., seized during the Anti Eve-Teasing drive and Operation Clean Rohtak launched by the district police.
