Karnal, September 14

State INLD president Ashok Arora on Friday defended Leader of the Opposition Abhay Chautala for brandishing a show at Congress MLA Karan Dalal in the recently concluded monsoon session of the Assembly.

“Abhay reacted to Dalal’s action. The Congress MLA was the first to take off his shoe and brandish at Abhay,” he told the media here.

Arora was in the city to attend a meeting of party workers to assign duties for the ‘Samman Diwas’ rally scheduled for September 25 in Gohana. The rally will mark the birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal.

Arora said Dalal had made derogatory remarks about Devi Lal and former Chief Minister OP Chautala, prompting the Leader of the Opposition to counter Dalal.

Arora, meanwhile, accused the BJP government of having failed at all fronts. “Employees of several departments are protesting in the state, while the state government is a mute spectator. Law and order has been deteriorating by the day,” he added.
