Jhajjar, April 20

Farmers of Dhakla village today disrupted vehicular traffic on the Jhajjar-Kosli road to protest delay in payment of procured wheat and its tardy lifting. Dhakla is the native village of Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar.

“We have been making rounds of the grain market for past several days to get the payment, but the procurement agency did not pay any heed to our demand. We had to protest ultimately,” said a farmer.

They ended protest after Jhajjar SDM Pradeep Kaushik assured them that the payment would be made within two days. He also promised speedy lifting of procured wheat to make space for fresh wheat arrival in the grain market.
