Keeping in view the Bharatiya Janata Party’s rally, the Sonepat police have banned the plying of heavy vehicles on the Gohana-Jind stretch of the national highway from 8 pm on Wednesday to 6 pm the next day.

According to SP Satender Kumar, there will be a ban on sale of liquor on February 15 and facilities like ambulance, crane, recovery van and fire brigade will be made available on the Gohana-Jind road.

He said companies of paramilitary forces would remain in the district up to February 23 as the All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti would observe ‘balidaan divas’ on February 18 and a rally in Delhi on February 23.

Later, Deputy Commissioner KM Pandurang reviewed the situation in a meeting with officials of the district administration, police and paramilitary forces.
