Faridabad, September 14

Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief Ashok Tanwar has charged Manohar Lal Khattar-led state government of failing to maintain law and order.

Addressing gatherings during the fifth phase of his Cycle Yatra at Mohna and Prithla villages, Tanwar said the gangrape of a girl in Mahendergarh district had exposed the tall claims of the BJP government. The situation had gone from bad to worse in the past four years.

"While the government had been coining attractive slogans like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,' the ground situation was different as there was hardly any safety for women and girls in view of the rising incidents of rape, molestation and other crimes", he alleged.

Claiming that such incidents had brought a bad name to the state, he asked how could the ruling government justify the claims of development when women were unsafe

The Cycle Yatra started from Tigaon on its third day and passed through Neemka, Mujedi, IMT Vita Chowk, Chandawali, Machhgar, Dyalpur, Ateli, Chhayansa, Mohana, Aterna, Jawan, Fatehpur Baloch, Dhing, Pyala, Sikri, Prithla, Bhagola and reached Maharana Pratap Bhawan in Palwal, this evening.

The HPCC chief claimed that anti-people policies of the present government had increased the suffering of the masses. Earning a livelihood had become a cause of concern for the common man. There was a lack of employment opportunities due to the wrong policies of the state and the Union Governments.
