Kaithal, January 12

Deputy Commissioner Sunita Verma today directed the police to lodge an FIR against the manager of Punjab National Bank’s branch at Kailram village after a woman alleged that the branch manager had misbehaved with her. The woman had reportedly gone to the branch to seek a loan.

The DC, who was presiding over grievance redressal meeting here, also directed the lead bank manager to file a complaint with the state- level banking committee about banks refusal to grant loans to deserving persons. She also expressed displeasure over the attitude of some banks towards prospective loan beneficiaries.

In another case, the DC directed ADC Capt Shakti Singh to inquire into a complaint by resident of Kheri Lamba village who alleged that MGNREGA wages were being deposited in bogus accounts. The Additional Deputy Commissioner has been asked to submit report in the next meeting.
