Four-day cultural, quiz fest ends

Kaithal, December 6

The four-day state-level school cultural and quiz festival, organised by the Education Department, ended here on Thursday.

Joint director Pooja Chavaria was the chief guest for the event. She appreciated students for their good performance and exhorted them to have a positive approach in life and compete with sportsman spirit and discipline. They can learn a lot from such competitions, she added.

However, the festival was marred by controversy and alleged lack of transparency about declaration of results of some events. Some participants even cried foul about the results. Objections were mainly raised by students from Fatehabd, Sonepat and Rewari districts.

Vivek Yadav and Sarita Madan, team in charge from Rewari, objected to the change in competition rules after first announcement

The officials of the department ruled out any foul play in preparation and declaration of results and said there was complete transparency and role of judges was above board and completely neutral.—OC
