Panchkula, January 11

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan and 14 other accused in Panchkula violence were produced in the Panchkula court today.

The court deferred framing of charges against Honeypreet and other accused to February 21. Defence counsel submitted that the police had not provided complete chargesheet to them.

They had only been provided 150 pages of the chargesheet and sought adjournment in the case till the time full chargesheet was submitted by the police, defence counsel argued in the court.

On the defence’s plea, Additional District and Sessions Judge Neerja Kulwant Kalson deferred framing of charges to February 21.

Meanwhile, the Panchkula police today challenged regular bail given to Gopal Insan, Pradeep Insan and Khairati Lal and anticipatory bail to Rekam Singh. On police application, the court fixed arguments for January 19.

A chargesheet was submitted in the Panchkula court on November 28, mentioning the role of top dera functionaries, including Honeypreet.
