Man killed by wife, son in Ambala

Ambala, June 13

A 47-year-old man was reportedly killed by his wife and son for allegedly having bad intentions about his daughter-in-law at Manglai village under Mahesh Nagar police station in Ambala Cantonment on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Deep Lal Mehto, a citizen of Nepal, and the accused have been identified as his wife Rani and son Ganesh Mehto.

He used to live with his family at rooms constructed on an agricultural field.

Ajaib Singh, SHO, Mahesh Nagar police station, said, “We got a call from Rajveer, owner of the field, informing that a labourer who used to live at his field has died. We found that he had sustained grave injuries on his head and eyes and it looked like a murder.

“Meanwhile, his wife Rani and son Ganesh were packing their belongings. It appeared that they were planning to flee. When questioned, they confessed to their crime and disclosed that the Deep used to have bad intentions about his daughter-in-law.”

As per information available, they had been living here for nearly 15 days. The family members had an argument over the issue a couple of days back. Last night, Deep’s son tied him with ropes and then, family members beat him with a stick mercilessly, leading to his death.

The accused have been arrested and a case under Section 302, 201 and 34 of IPC has been registered against them.
