MBBS passouts will have to serve in state

Chandigarh, December 6

Doctors passing MBBS course from medical colleges in the state will have to serve in Haryana. A notification in this regard will be issued soon, said Health Minister Anij Vij on Wednesday.

He said as per the World Health Organisation, there should be one doctor per 1,000 persons, but the country had one doctor for over 1,800 persons. He said recruitment of 995 doctors had been done to meet shortage. He said screening would be carried out across the state and free treatment provided to detect diseases and find factors responsible. —TNS
