Chandigarh, January 12

Industries and Commerce Minister Vipul Goel will auction the gifts and mementos received by him as a minister during the past more than three years for Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

A political aide of the minister said that all gifts and mementoes like silver crowns, silver maces, swords, shawls and paintings, etc would be put up for auction to be held at Hotel Rajhans in Surajkund, Faridabad, on Sunday.

Padma Shri Awardee Shekhar Sen will present a mono act ‘Vivekanand’ at the function.

“I have chosen this play because Swami Vivekanand’s birth anniversary was celebrated on January 12 and the next one week is being observed as Yuva Prerana Saptah,” Goel said.

Before this, Vipul Goel got installed the highest Tricolour in Faridabad and got planted 2.5 lakh saplings in three hours.

The minister is also credited with organising events like ‘Harit Haryana’ (to make the state pollution free), Project Panchhi (a campaign to provide shelter, water and food to birds), Digital Rally (addressing people at different locations using latest technology) and camps for grievance redressal.
