Nitin Gadkari wants no-halt toll plazas

Gurugram, April 16

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday floated an idea of no-halt toll plazas.

“I am inspired from a similar system in Korea and is planning to implement it in India soon,” he said. “We want to have a system where you don’t need to stop at toll plazas. Sensors will detect your car registration number and deduct toll from your bank accounts. It is an ambitious project, but will be a one-point solution to toll-related jams and woes ailing many cities, including Gurugram,” he said. — TNS
