Parallel Jathedars welcome Jhinda in Sikh fold

Tribune News Service

Amritsar, April 20

Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Managing committee (HSGMC) leader Jagdish Singh Jhinda appeared before the ‘parallel’ Jathedars here today.

Jathedars Dhian Singh Mand (Akal Takht), Amrik Singh Ajnala (Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib) and Baljit Singh Daduwal (Takht Sri Damdama Sahib) held a meeting at the Akal Takht to hear the appeal filed by Jhinda.

Discarding the hukumnama pronounced by Akal Takht on July 16, 2014, the Jathedars said that Jhinda was victimised by the SAD (Badal) and was excommunicated for struggling for the cause of Haryana Sikhs.

Mand said that an application was received by Jhinda stating that though he had volunteered to appear before the Akal Takht recently and had undergone tankhah, but he could not find solace.

“Today, we appeal to the Sikhs to welcome him back to the community,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Jathedars reserved their action against Sikh leaders who had sought the support of Dera Sacha Sauda. Till date, no leader spared a thought to approach them.

The action against such leaders would be taken on May 8, Mand said.
