Tribune News Service

Yamunanagar, January 12

The teachers’ protest against suspension of two senior professors continued for the eighth day today. State president of Haryana College Teachers’ Association (HCTA) Dr Narender Chahar visited the dharna site outside Guru Nanak Khalsa College here.

Dr Chahar said the protest would grow in case the suspension of the two professors was not revoked.

North zone general secretary of All-India Federation of Universities and College Teachers Organisation Dr Attar Singh demanded immediate withdrawal of suspension order.

Dr Chahar and office-bearers of the HCTA held a meeting with Mandeep Singh, college principal.

He said the principal had asked them to lift dharna before any further action was taken. Dr Chahar said teachers would take out protest march from the college to the Deputy Commissioner’s office next Friday.
