Panchkula, December 4

Raising question about the investigation into the cash-for-job scam, a local court has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to reinvestigate the case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Justice Narender Sura on Tuesday directed the DGP to constitute a team of three IPS officers to reinvestigate the matter in two months.

The court expressed surprise that the SIT had not listened to the DVD of the call transcriptions of the accused. The SIT has also failed to investigate 2,000 calls made during the scam.

The SIT had filed a chargesheet against Subhash Sharma, who was heading the confidentiality branch of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) when the alleged scam took place, besides another Subhash of the HSSC; assistants Anil Kumar, Rohtash Sharma and Sukhwinder; and IT cell employee of the HSSC Puneet Saini; Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) employee Balwan; former manpower provider Dharminder; and Irrigation Department assistant Surender Kumar. The SIT has already submitted the call records of all accused before the Panchkula court in a sealed cover.
