Concerned over psychological and mental health problems among students, the psychology department of three universities has urged the state government to take a slew of measures. One of the proposals is to appoint counsellors in all schools, colleges and universities.

The matter was discussed at MDU, Rohtak, during a January 4 meeting of chairpersons of psychology departments — Prof Sandeep Singh of the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science of Technology (GJUST), Hisar; Prof Nav Rattan Sharma of the MDU; and Prof Rohtash from Kurukshetra University.
