Attack on police party: 2nd accused remains at large

Even days 12 days after the incident, police have remained unable to apprehend one of the accused, who had run away after alleged attack on a police party on April 8 at Pungh Nakka near Sundernagar,

As per information, police party on April 8 stopped a vehicle for checking at Pungh Nakka on the Manali – Chandigarh road near Sundernagar. Two persons sitting in the car manhandled the police party and threatened the personnel brandishing a pistol. Soon after they fled from the spot.

The police had registered a case under sections 307 (Attempt to murder), 353 (Assault on public servant) of the Indian Penal Code read with section 25 of Indian Arms Act at police station Sundernagar against both the accused.

Ansul (24), a resident of Delhi, was nabbed by the police with the help of local residents. A pistol and 20 live cartridges were recovered from him, while the other accused continues to elude the police net.
