Auditorium for Chamba city sought

Chamba, March 20

The Senior Citizens’ Welfare Society, Chamba, has demanded the construction of an auditorium as a sole government-run facility with ample parking space in Chamba city.

“In fact, the auditorium is badly needed which may act as a platform for the promotion of traditional folk songs and dances of the Chamba area and other cultural activities as an entertainment for the public,” society president PC Oberoi said here today.

He suggested that the auditorium building should have a portico on its two sides, green room, office room and guest room. It should have the requisite seating capacity and lighting facilities, besides being equipped with acoustics and sound system. Moreover, it should be air-conditioned.

Suresh Rana, District Language Officer, when contacted, supported the idea of the auditorium and said an auditorium was imperative at the district headquarters town for which the department was also making efforts. — OC
