Hamirpur, January 13

Schools having a strength of over 300 students will be provided with Direct To Home (DTH) satellite TV connections.

This was stated by Anurag Thakur, Member of Parliament, while addressing youth at a function on folklore, organised by the Nehru Yuvak Kendra on the 155th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Mair village on Friday.

He said Swami Vivekananda was a great thinker and his vision was progressive.

He said today’s youth were ignorant of our rich cultural heritage. We must encourage people to preserve it.

Speaking on the development of his constituency, he said the rail link from Una to Daulatpur was ready and would be made operational within a month.

He said Rs 1,000 crore for the Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway line had been sanctioned by the Central Government and Rs 6.5 crore had been released for the final survey.

He said the work on this section would be started after March this year.

“This rail link will connect Leh and Ladakh with the rest of the country once it is completed,” he said.

He said since this project was strategically important, the government would do it on a priority basis.

He said the rail link to Hamirpur would also be initiated soon. Earlier, Thakur addressed a meeting of the BJP workers and said time had come to gear up for the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

He said his aim was to make the constituency a model constituency and would not let any stone unturned.
