Farm university to fill 77 posts of teacher

To regularise 35 scientists working on co-terminus basis

CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University will fill up over 77 posts of teachers and regularise 35 scientists working on co-terminus basis. This was disclosed by Prof Ashok Kumar Sarial, Vice-Chancellor, during a press conference, here today.

He said the management had approved filling up of the positions for Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

“The management has also approved regularisation of 11 non-teaching employees, who had completed 10 years of service and working on co-terminus basis,” he said.

He said 19 daily paid workers, who had been working in the university for more than a decade, would also be regularised.

He said 12 new head of departments had also been appointed.

He thanked the Chief Minister and the state government for strengthening teaching, research and extension activities, besides financial support from time-to-time.

“This will give impetus to the mandated activities in the university for the benefit of students and the farming community,” he said.

He said the management had also approved filling up of 18 posts of laboratory assistants and five posts under compassionate grounds. He said efforts had been made to provide benefits to staff and houses had been allotted for the staff under essential services category.

“This will improve health services and functioning of hostels. Similarly, the staff under the new pension scheme have been allowed benefits similar to the staff of the state government. The wages of contractual staff have also been equated with the state government staff,” he added.

He said eight certificate courses will be started for matriculates and drop-outs.

“The government will be requested to provide sponsorship or subsidy in their fees. The courses will be offered for organic farming, bee-keeping, poly houses farming, vegetable production, dairy, animal husbandry etc,” he said. Dr Hirday Paul Singh, Joint Director (Information & Public Relations) and Dr Ashok Kumar, OSD to VC were also present.
